Amazing biodiversity in Borneo perfect for scientific studies!

Posted 25 Jun 2014

Tunku Abdul Rahman Park is a perfect location for University students studying scientific degrees, and in June, our premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre hosted a group from the University of Cardiff!

Our team of PADI Instructors provided our reputable high standard of quality dive training during the conduct of the PADI Open Water Diver course for all students including their two professors.

Not only were they taught the basic skills of scuba diving they also completed the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy course, which further improves their underwater control because it’s essential to recording their data efficiently and surveying the fragile coral reefs without damaging the environment!

The students also learned reef mapping, fish sizing techniques, coral identification and became familiar with various equipment such as quadrats, underwater tape measures and underwater fish ID slates and books that will assist them in their future careers.

A program to accommodate University Groups can be tailored to suit their studies, which depending on their degree outline experience of field study is usually a requirement towards the credits in the modules of their degree.
