One of our PADI professionals delivers the PADI AWARE Coral Reef Conservation Specialty to the non-divers of our current group of Gap Year adventurers’ from the UK!
Our Gaya Island beach house is already a beautiful paradise setting to inspire our students to care for our natural environment, but words of encouragement from our PADI Instructors are also powerful tools of influence!
The UK-based students participate in one or more of the island activities we offer to learn more about their tropical surroundings as they camp overnight on the island too. All of the group may participate in certifying as a PADI Open Water Diver and for those choosing a non-diving activity they can experience snorkeling, kayaking and jungle trekking.
The learning experience doesn’t end there for those non-divers because one of our experienced PADI Instructors will conduct a presentation on the conservation of coral. This will usually become an open discussion amongst students and Instructor, because the health of coral affects everyone! The students become animated when the discussion evolves to how the individual person can offer a positive contribution in their daily lives to protect our natural environment.
For further details on how to create a Gap Year adventure to make a difference, contact our HQ. One of our experienced members of staff will discuss a suitable program for a group of any size, small or large, to explore exotic Borneo!
