A big round of ‘fins up’ to Camps International PADI Open Water Divers who experienced scuba diving on our PADI Discover Scuba Diving program and continued on to qualify in the first recreational level of the PADI system of diver education!
The sense of achievement (and elation that comes with) from qualifying as Open Water, has created newfound passion for our adventurers’. This is exactly our intentions – to inspire a deeper appreciation for our natural environment through the unique experience of scuba diving!
Our Sabah Travel Centre created an educational program for our groups to better understand the benefits of protecting and preserving our marine environment. PADI professionals have a duty to educate their student divers to care for the environment, and it’s always best to start contributing in their own local area. With each group, afternoon sessions of beach clean-ups are organised between the campers and our island staff team to collect as much marine debris from the shorelines to dispose of properly.

Ecotourism is fast becoming a popular choice amongst travellers, and our travelling groups are no exception who choose Expedition Borneo to preserve Sabah’s history!
Expedition Borneo is a highly popular 30-day program, which includes the very best attractions of Kota Kinabalu and Sabah, and each adventure activity is focused with some education. When our groups visit Sandakan and the Kinabatangan River, on the east coast of Sabah, the week-long trip involves all operators who also believe and practise ecotourism in their own operations.
In Sandakan, Expedition Borneo groups will tour the Sandakan War Memorial Park to better understand the rich history of Sabah. The park is a protected area and continues to be preserved through people visiting its grounds. The biological diversity of the World Heritage Site, Kinabalu National Park, is also protected and preserved through visitors coming to gain an appreciation of the incredible nature of the vast area in the Crocker Range, such as Poring Hot Springs!
