For the avid marine biologist, a popular study is of seagrass, which Downbelow’s premier PADI 5 Star IDC Dive Centre in TAR marine park have easy access to!

Seagrass grows in the protected Tunku Abdul Rahman marine park where we are located, and where our group of students from the University of South Wales conduct their visual census surveys.

One of their various scientific diving practices is to record seagrass population, for which the students of USW conduct every year; making their studies an invaluable contribution to the statistics of the environmental health in our local area.

Seagrass is an incredibly important ecosystem that we need to protect because it’s food for lots of marine life, such as dugongs and sea turtles, and it’s a natural habitat for many, many juveniles!

Our Sabah Travel Centre specialise in personalising the perfect program to integrate a uniquely educational program through the adventures to experience in Kota Kinabalu and Sabah! We choose only environmentally-responsible operators for our clients to experience the very best attractions, such as climbing Mount Kinabalu, which is situated in the World Heritage Site Kinabalu National Park!
